20 years of Linux
Linux Foundation marks this year the twentieth anniversary of the Linux open source operating system. Much has been achieved since 1991, when Linus Torvalds announced its first official version.

Nowadays, though still under-represented at the level of personal computers, Linux is a leader with regard to web servers and supercomputers (used by companies like Google, Facebook, Twitter and Amazon).
More recently, it also triumphs at smartphones, as the Android system (leading system on smartphones) is based on Linux’s kernel.
