Eurotux took part in the largest national WordPress event
The Congress Centre of the Superior Institute of Engineering of Porto, hosted the WordCamp Porto 2016 last May 14 and 15. The event included several activities, from presentations to workshops, with help coming from all corners of the globe. The event’s program also included Portuguese companies of reference in the area, and with renowned personalities from the global WordPress community, that in tandem with about 300 participants, made WordCamp Porto 2016, one of the most emblematic WordCamps ever held in Portugal.
Eurotux contributed to the event with a presentation, conducted by Nuno Fernandes and André Rocha, called, “Open source technologies: scale and redundancy”. In this session, Eurotux presented the open source technologies used in solutions it developed to scale and create redundancies in large volume websites, based on WordPress, as is the case with the Dinheiro Vivo, and Pingo Doce websites. Among these, are some state-of-the-art technologies, such as Nginx, Varnish, and database clusters. Additionally, strategies were presented, covering the common concerns in implementing sizeable projects and some of the architectures of reference.
With this presentation, Eurotux demonstrated that WordPress can be used to implement technically complex and demanding solutions, and how the choice of architecture and infrastructure are decisive for their proper performance. As well as the knowledge sharing, Eurotux positioned itself not only as a company that is capable of implementing WordPress solutions, to suit each customer, but also a national option in delivering hosting, support and maintenance services for this type of solution.
