Website with Open Scholar created for the University of Minho’s HASLab

Open Scholar is an important tool for academic institutions, since it allows teachers and students to create their very own personalized websites to publish their work. This platform – based on Drupal – delivers a flexible and cost-free open source solution. Its popularity is due to an easy content aggregation, organization by categories and easy content publication.

The new HASLab website, presents a new design and features shared by top level universities, such as Harvard, which uses the same platform. Comprehensive contents concerning researchers, published papers, or other publications reviewed by the group, as well as an enhanced accessibility, are all featured in the new portal.

The Eurotux development team implemented the website in Drupal 6, an open source content management system, which then integrated with Open Scholar with a skin-theme provided by the client. As a result, both the website’s content, as well as its looks are customized to HASLab’s request.

This project is yet another example of Eurotux’s web development capacity, backed up by a vast experience with both institutional and private clients in a wide range of fields.

HASLAb organizes symposium on reliable systems

The HASLab (High Assurance Software Laboratory) was created in 2010 from the Center of Computation Sciences and Technology (CCTC) and from the Computer Science Department of the University of Minho, in Braga, and is a privileged partner of the INESC Porto – Computers and Systems Engineering Institute of Porto, Portugal.

HASLab was recently selected to organize the 2013 edition of the IEEE Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS). This international symposium on reliable system is one of the most reputed conferences in the field, this being the first time it has ever been held in Portugal. The SRDS took place between October 1 and 3, at the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal.
