Colégio João Paulo II reformulates technology infrastructure with eurotux Virtualization Appliance
Located in Braga, it also offers its students a broad extracurricular program. The development of new areas such as attendance management or bar management led them to challenge Eurotux to implement a technological solution to solve these issues and enable future growth.
The eurotux Virtualization Appliance, implements the virtualization platform used in Colégio João Paulo II. This platform allowed the creation and management of multiple servers, fundamental to the services the school provides its students. One of these installed servers, in its virtual component of the eurotux Firewall product, allows the management of students and staff access to the Internet thereby improving global safety.
The range of the included solutions in virtual machines is comprehensive, covering all the needed functionality for the operation of IT systems including file server, email, firewall, voip, etc.
To protect the information in the event of a disaster, the eBackup service was also installed in the client. eurotux eBackup is a cloud service that guarantees automated protection of data from PCs, laptops or servers, of any type of organization, to a remote location, in a specialized datacenter, managed and monitored 24×7 by Eurotux.
This solution allows data to be sent through a VPN over the Internet to the Eurotux Cloud where they are stored for a pre-established period. A major advantage of the implemented solution is the deduplication (the ability to find new information in the client files so that only these changed data is sent), which thus allows faster backup times and smaller quantities of transmitted data.
