XXIV Congress of the Portuguese Order of Dentists
The Portuguese Order of Dentists (OMD) held the 24th annual edition of its congress at the Meo Arena, in Lisbon, Portugal, on December 12 to 14.
In keeping with tradition, the congress had a scientific component that showcased its programmes quality. Conferences provided access to prestigious speakers. This year, 83 national and 12 foreign speakers took part. In addition to 123 scientific presentations, hands-on courses were administered, combining theory with clinical practice.
The Dentistry-Expo was a part of the congress, the largest dentistry fair in Portugal, including the participation of the sector’s most renowned brand names. In this edition, 110 exhibits took up 390 available spaces, presenting participants the novelties the industry has to offer, regarding dentistry equipment and tools.
Additionally, a photography contest was held, as well as a social event, providing an opportunity for attendants to meet another.
The congress’ next edition will take place in Porto, Portugal, during the 10th, 11th, and 12th of November 2016.
Relationship with Eurotux
Eurotux was responsible for creating the OMD’s website. Currently, it provides its support and maintenance services. Through a relationship focused on continuity, the OMD, together with Eurotux, has become a fundamental tool in bringing the sector’s professionals closer together.
In addition to the website, Eurotux created a mobile application providing easy access to information on the OMD’s annual congress.
About OMD
The OMD’s main goal is to improve the oral health of the Portuguese public, promoting all forms of access to dentistry. It has roughly 8700 associates, spanning from 38 countries and representing the European, American, African, and Asian continents.
