Eurotux takes part in Technical Committee for the standardization of IT Systems and Management Security
Eurotux is part of the Technical Committees “CT 163 – Information Systems Security”, and “CT 191 – IT Service Management and Governance” that watch over standardization efforts in this sector, with the goal of implementing a policy of good practices in managing services provided by companies.
These two standardization Committees are coordinated by the Portuguese Association of Information Technology and Service Managers (itSMF Portugal), seeking to transpose international standards of excellence and quality of services provided in the field of Information and Communication Technology (IT) to the national reality. Eurotux’s participation in the two panels of specialists reflects the company’s commitment in applying the best management and security practices, always focused on addressing the customers’ needs and goals.
The “CT 163 – Information Systems Security” is dedicated to the standardization of information security management systems, cryptography and security systems, evaluation, security tests and specification, security controls and services, identity management, and privacy technology”. Presided by the professor Henrique Santos, of the Information Systems Department of the University of Minho, in Braga, Portugal, this Technical Committee handles the standardization of the NP ISO 27001:2013, the international reference for Information Security Management, which is guided by the general principle of organizations adopting a set of requirements, processes, and controls that seek to mitigate and adequately manage the organization’s risk.
The “CT 191 – IT Service Management and Governance” handles the “standardization for IT services and IT governance”, within the scope of monitoring the international technical committee SC40 “IT Service Management and IT governance”, of the ISO/IEC JTC1. Presided by Mário Rui Costa, member of the management of the itSMF Portugal, this Committee handles the transposition to Portugal, of the international standard ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 – “Information technology – Service management – Part 1: Service management system requirements”. The Portuguese version of this standard was published by the itSMF Portugal in 2011, and services as a reference for national companies, in applying the best management and governance practices for IT services.
