(Reverted) Browsers end support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1
We are here to inform our customers that until the end of march our main browsers will no longer support TLS 1.0 and 1.1, which means that some of the browsers are going to make an alert to your website as insecure, and they will deny access to the users. For this reason it is necessary to take some measures so that the websites that are still using those versions of the TLS keep working correctly.
TLS (Transport Layer Security) is an evolution of the SSL (Secure Socket Layers) and it encrypts the data sent through the Internet to avoid a third party access, which is specially useful for confidential information such as keywords and credit card numbers.
If your website is still using the TLS 1.0 or 1.1, from this month on it will not be considered safe by the most frequently used browsers, such as Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. In order to avoid this situation it will be necessary to update your website to a more recent version of the protocol TLS (1.2 or 1.3), or if it’s not possible, take alternative solutions. Update: Both Mozilla and Google have re-enabled TLS 1.0 and 1.1 to help those who are being affected by COVID-19 and are currently forced to work from home. Another reason Mozilla gave for this is because some of critical government websites do not support TLS 1.2 yet.
