Eurotux conducts QA and DevOps project with IPCA
Eurotux was chosen by IPCA to ensure the quality of the +Social project, “Open-source platform for higher education student support services” through DevOps and QA services.
+Social is a project being developed by the Social Action Services of Polytechnic Institutes of Cávado e Ave, Coimbra e Santarém that together with six other Social Action Services of Polytechnic Institutes are working on the development of an innovative open-source Framework for support services and students in higher education.
Through easier access to the services provided by these social support structures and by increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative functioning of SAS, they aim to facilitate students’ access to higher education, as well as to provide services that contribute to improving academic success and thus contribute to making higher education more accessible and inclusive.
In order to ensure the quality of the different components of the +Social platform, the IPCA’s Social Support Service has launched a new project focused on carrying out different types of tests on the code already produced and also to define policies to maintain quality standards for the future.
Manual and automatic tests will be performed at QA level to ensure compliance with functional requirements already implemented, and also support development teams with unit tests at code level.
Another component of this project is the DevOps: automation of CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery) tasks that ensures the execution of all essential tests before the deployment of new code and accelerates the new features production process.
Eurotux already has vast experience in Cloud & DevOps, which guarantees a faster time-to-market, in a model of constant improvement in small pieces of code, tested and implemented automatically.
For Eurotux this project proves the level of technical expertise in the area of software development beyond implementation, usually guaranteed by the group’s web development company: Dipcode; and which also includes the areas of DevOps, QA, Project Management and Systems Administration.
The creation of the +Social platform is part of the project FI@SAS (Basic Services Interoperability Framework for the IPVC, IPB and IPCA Community) which started in 2017. It intends to be innovative in the collaborative model of the project and in the methodologies implemented.
