Sustainability

Ethical business practices have always been a core priority at Eurotux Group. Since our establishment in 2000, we have remained committed to conducting our operations with integrity, transparency, and respect for all our stakeholders.

We recognise that sustainability is a shared responsibility. Over the years, we have made it an integral part of our operations and business strategy. We believe that sustainability should inform our decisions, helping to create a fairer, more responsible, and more sustainable future for everyone.

Our commitment to the United Nations' 10 principles

Eurotux is guided by the 10 Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, encompassing key areas such as human rights, labour practices, environmental protection, and anti-corruption. These principles shape our strategy, drive our operations, and inform our relationships with all stakeholders.

1. Respecting and promoting human rights: At Eurotux, we are committed to upholding and protecting the human rights of all our employees, partners, and communities. We champion dignity, equality, and respect in all our practices and operations.

2. Zero tolerance for human rights abuses: We strive to work with suppliers and partners who follow responsible practices aligned with our ethical values. We actively encourage the adoption of policies that respect human rights and promote fair working conditions.

3. Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining: We respect the right to freedom of association and foster a work environment where employees feel valued, heard, and respected.

4. Elimination of forced and bonded labour: Eurotux maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of forced labour or exploitation. We enforce strict measures to ensure a fair, safe, and dignified working environment.

5. Eradication of child labour: We work exclusively with partners and suppliers who share our commitment to eradicating child labour, aligning with international best practices.

6. Elimination of discrimination in employment: Diversity is a fundamental part of our culture. We promote equal opportunities and actively combat all forms of discrimination based on gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or physical ability. Currently, 25% of our team comprises women, and we ensure equal access to leadership positions, with progression based solely on competence and merit.

7. Proactive approach to environmental sustainability: We prioritise sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. Our facilities are powered by solar energy and designed for energy efficiency, featuring motion sensors and LED lighting.

8. Promotion of environmental initiatives: We champion sustainability through tangible actions, such as our sustainable mobility programme, which includes electric bicycles, scooters, and a fleet of electric vehicles. We also encourage the use of public transport and carpooling through a priority parking scheme.

9. Development and promotion of sustainable technologies: Eurotux develops technological solutions that help clients reduce resource consumption by digitising and automating processes. This approach minimises paper usage and improves energy efficiency.

10. Fighting corruption in all forms: We operate a zero-tolerance policy on corruption, including extortion and bribery. This commitment is upheld through a strict Business Code of Conduct, supported by internal training and a hands-on engagement strategy with our teams.

We also actively promote the DevOps Braga Community, providing a space for knowledge sharing and collaborative growth among technology professionals.

Eurotux Group's Materiality Matrix

At the Eurotux Group, sustainability is a strategic commitment that shapes our actions and decisions. We have developed our Materiality Matrix by focusing on the topics most relevant to our stakeholders and the success of our business. This process enables us to identify and prioritise critical issues across three key dimensions: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

The matrix was developed based on:

  • The level of impact on the Eurotux Group — its direct influence on our operational and strategic performance.
  • The level of importance to stakeholders — the relevance of each issue to employees, clients, partners, and society as a whole.

Key Material Topics

Based on this matrix, we have identified the following critical topics for the Eurotux Group:

  • Management of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: We work to reduce our operations’ environmental impact by adopting energy efficiency measures and using renewable energy sources.
  • Preference for local suppliers: Whenever possible, we prioritise working with local partners to support the regional economy and reduce our carbon footprint.
  • Social projects and initiatives: We support volunteering and donation initiatives that promote social well-being.
  • Relationships and impact on the local community: We strengthen ties with the local community through partnerships with educational institutions and other social organisations.
  • Anti-corruption and corporate transparency: We ensure ethical and responsible business practices in our operations.
  • Stakeholder engagement: We maintain open and transparent dialogue with our stakeholders, aligning their expectations with our actions.
  • Economic impact and adoption of sustainable technologies: We believe sustainable technological innovation is essential for our growth and for generating long-term value.

Our Materiality Matrix is vital for guiding our actions and reinforcing our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 10 Principles of the United Nations Global Compact. We will continue to monitor and update this matrix to ensure our priorities remain aligned with stakeholder expectations and global sustainability challenges.
