Eurotux broadens skills in IBM’s Intelligent Operations Center.
From April 7 to 10, Eurotux took part in the Technical Enablement Session carried out by IBM’s Smarter Cities team. This session, put together for a select group of entities, provided an in depth look of the IOC’s capabilities, granting its participants the necessary skills for implementing Smarter Cities solutions.
IOC is a decision support system that includes among its main features the visualization of operation status in a certain town or region, streamlining and improving collaboration between different entities within a territory, improving the management of incidents that affect citizens, and aiding the decision making process, thanks to the visualization and exploration of gathered data, advanced simulations and predictive analytics. It can be implemented in several sectors, such as waterworks, energy, transportation, health, banking, and retail, among others.
On the project’s Portuguese website, IBM affirms that “billions of digital devices connected through the Internet, are producing a vast ocean of data. All of this information, from fluxes in the market to the rhythm of societies, can be transformed into knowledge, since we already possess the capacity for computation and advanced analytics to understand them. With this knowledge, we can reduce costs, reduce waste, and improve efficiency, productivity and the quality of everything from businesses to cities.”
The Smarter Cities solution is directed towards municipalities and governmental institutions. This session, combined with the vast experience in developing and implementing projects for public institutions, offers to deepen Eurotux’s skills, making it a more comprehensive and qualified provider of IBM solutions, with whom it has partnered for several years.
