Orbitur renews IT infrastructure
With «trust in us to camp in Portugal» as their motto, Orbitur, the leading Portuguese open-air hospitality company since 1960, presents a diverse offer of tourist accommodation, with over 20 sites all over the country.
The company focuses on the ongoing qualification and differentiation of its products, particularly directed at families and enthusiasts of tourism and nature in general, with modern equipment, capable of providing high levels of comfort for the most demanding clients.
In order to better support its activity, Orbitur renovated its information technology (IT) infrastructure. The project, implemented by Eurotux, involved an upgrade of its IBM Power system to a more recent processing technology, with substantial gains in performance.
The new system will also support the future growth of the company, while it opens doors to the world of Linux, since it can run application on this platform. As a result, Orbitur can consider new approaches to its IT infrastructure, with the possibility of consolidating services of different platforms in one machine.
