Eurotux Bragança strengthens growing technological cluster
Eurotux is the most recent company to move in to Brigantia Eco-Park – Science and Technology Park, in Bragança. The opening of Eurotux’s new office, in close cooperation with the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IBP), and relying on the support of the municipality of Bragança, strengthens the technological cluster, which is beginning its development in the Trás-os-Montes region’s city.
The Eurotux Group’s expansion to Bragança has the goal of attracting young qualified talent, investing in the development of local skills and job creation. The plan is to amplify Eurotux’s team in 2019, as stated by the Eurotux Group’s administrator, António Coutinho. He highlights the demand for “highly skilled” employees includes “very specific needs” that the IPB can supply, thanks to the training it provides in the field of Information Technology.
This proximity with the IPB is based on two fundamental pillars, research and training, areas that constitute strategic vectors for Eurotux. For the IPB, “maintaining a close relationship with companies”, is also a priority, in terms of research and training in a work context, as highlighted by the Superior Education’s institution’s president, Orlando Rodrigues. This cooperation, with the incorporation of the IPB’s students into Eurotux Bragança, makes perfect sense. The IPB’s president highlights that the partnership “adds value” to the Polytechnic, signalling that “a very interesting cluster of technological companies” that have moved in to the city, is currently growing in Bragança.
The mayor of Bragança, Hernâni Dias, highlights, on the other hand, that the arrival of companies such as Eurotux contributes to the “economic growth the municipality”, helping to secure population in the region. The Brigantia Eco-Park is an aggregator of knowledge and innovation, currently “undergoing sustained growth”, notes the mayor. Currently, 19 companies are installed at the Science and Technology Park, which also houses a Competency Centre.
For the Eurotux Group, the opening of this branch in Bragança follows the strategic line of sustained growth, also resulting from a focus on the potential of the country’s interior, in particular, the young talents that the IPB is polishing off.
