Keep your software up-to-date
It is essential to keep operating systems and applications up to date to meet security threats, ensure that functionality problems are corrected, and maintain an adequate level of performance.
Why are the software updates important?
Maintaining platforms with outdated software increases the risks, since attackers precisely use existing vulnerabilities (a result of software obsolescence) to leverage attacks on systems.
The risks are much higher when using software at the end of its life, since apart from being old typically there are no longer even teams actively creating fixes for problems encountered in the meantime.
Often, software reaches the end of its life and is no longer supported, which causes security solutions not to work properly. Updates occasionally bring important new features and functionality to the way organizations work.
Eurotux is concerned to ensure that its clients follow an update plan and therefore advises that an appropriate update routine be maintained by providing a consulting service to advise its clients.
