Unicol selects Eurotux’s Operations, Support and Maintenance service
The outsourcing of Information Technology services enables cost reduction, increased productivity and contributes to innovation within organizations. One of the goals of Eurotux’s investment in the Azorean market, was to mitigate the effect of insularity on information technology (IT) market players, providing its services and solutions in this region.
This investment is based on a great reference from Terceira Island – UNICOL – Agricultural Cooperative, CRL. This organization has been active for over a century and quality and innovation have been constant. It is a solid and dynamic company, essentially focused on the interests of producers, from whom it gathers its raw material and for whom it provides a wide range of services. Currently, it has 23 affiliated cooperative farms with about 900 associated producers.
Unicol’s fields of activity cover the collection and treatment of milk from producers, marketing dairy and meat products, the distribution of agricultural diesel and veterinary care, among others. Located in the Azores, it is an example of efficiency in remote interventions on IT infrastructure, making geographic location irrelevant.
Unicol has selected Eurotux to supply it with its IT solutions. It has a contract for support, monitoring, maintenance and support services for its IT infrastructure, under which its local team is supported by Eurotux.
Eurotux’s support team intervenes remotely, and in person whenever needed. Active monitoring enables Eurotux’s experts to act preventively, avoiding problems before they affect the system’s performance. Remote interventions provide quick and efficient answers to common problems. They also enable quick access to infrastructure, in order to diagnose incidents and take corrective measures.
With less need to spend time finding, reporting and solving problems, Unicol’s IT team is freed-up to focus on projects that will impact the organizations strategy.
Typically, organizations that adopt Operation, Support and Maintenance services, use their IT resources more efficiently, and are better equipped to solve problems more quickly, as well as avoiding unnecessary purchases, setting out a requirements plan and approaching scenarios that could not have been previously considered, for lack of know-how.
