Yves Rocher Portugal consolidates its IT infrastructure to sustain growth
Yves Rocher Portugal, headquartered in Maia, Portugal, has recently updated its information technology (IT) infrastructure, having consolidated several servers that support business-critical systems on a machine based on the latest IBM processing technology, the POWER8.
Services that were previously spread over several machines were consolidated onto one virtual environment running on IBM Power. This step reduced operational and licensing related costs, while making the infrastructure’s management and operation easier.
The system installed is based on the POWER8 processor. In addition to the level of performance it provides in comparison to previous systems, this type of system is compatible with other technology, such as Unix and Linux.
This modernization assures that the infrastructure presents the necessary resources and performance, security, availability and scalability indicators, to address the organization’s long term technological needs.
Jorge Paiva, Sales Director at Eurotux, highlights “the long term commitment made by both companies with this technology”. The IBM power platform is considered the core of Yves Rocher Portugal’s IT infrastructure. Eurotux manages the largest client IBM Power base installed in Portugal.
