Eurotux promotes the donation of goods for the Social Solidarity Association of São Tiago de Fraião
Eurotux put together another social responsibility initiative among its employees, requesting the collection of goods to donate to the Social Solidarity Association of São Tiago de Fraião, in Braga. This institution is dedicated to supporting the elderly and sick.
Located in the city parish of Nogueira, Fraião, and Lamaçães, the Social Solidarity Association of São Tiago de Fraião, is an IPSS, the Portuguese designation for Private Social Solidarity Institution, which has Public Utility status, given the importance of the services it provides. Founded in 1998, the institution provides Residential Facilities for the elderly, Day Center, and Home Support Service. Currently, it supports about 100 users of its several services, for 365 days a year, on a daily basis.
Eurotux appealed to its employees to contribute with food goods and hygiene products, the sort of goods that are most often needed by the institution. After counting the monetary value of the goods donated by its employees, Eurotux covered the value, also in goods, delivering the total collected goods to the Association.
This is yet another solidarity initiative that Eurotux has fostered indoors, keeping the spirit of social responsibility and helping the community, alive. In the past, the company has taken part in several campaigns for the Portuguese Food Bank Against Hunger, delivering food and financial donations. Eurotux’s employees also helped the campaign for the Portuguese League Against Cancer, namely, the “Onda Rosa 2015” campaign (Pink Wave 2015), which aimed to raise awareness to the importance of prevention in the fight against breast cancer. Additionally, the company provided hosting, free of charge, for the FalarSobreCancro.org (Talk About Cancer) project’s website, which provides useful information that enables the oncology community to share their experiences.
The Social Responsibility initiatives implemented by Eurotux, reflect the company’s commitment to its community, as strategic pillars of the values that guide it, certain that it falls upon everyone to contribute to making the world a better place.
